64km of curves, speed, crowd and simbolo places, this is the Ride London. Yesterday I finally returned racing with my team (Valcar PBM) on a World Tour’s race. It has been a very particullary race: short but intens and with athlets of a very high level. We did 12 laps of a circuit in the center of London. Every lap we passed next to Buckingham Palace and the whole circuit was full of people.
At the start the adrenalin was at the top, because we knew that in this kind of races every team trys to stay on the front of the group, so we knew that we had to “fight” for the positions against the best riders of the world.
My team mates did a great job all the time keeping me safe in the front of the peloton and, in the lasts kilometers, overcoming some of the best teams. In this way they helped me to reach a good position for the final sprint. There were the best world’s sprinters, but I did a great job achieving a wonderfull third place behind Wild and Vos. This is my first podium on a World Tour’s race and I’m really happy and satisfied…I’ve never immagined to do such a good result! I have to thank all my team because they have belived in me.
Now I do the tourist in London for one day and than I’ll fly to Glasgow for the trak’s European Championships!
