I ended my northern races with the Brabantse Pjil and the Amstel Gold Race, I can be very satisfied with my start of the season: undoubtedly the best ever!

During the Brabantse Pjil we had to pass through twenty-two hills, a typical Belgian race where there was not even a lack of cobbles!I am extremely satisfied of how I raced: I was not afraid to waste too much energy and decided, according to my sports director, to be active and to try to promote a break-away and increase the awareness in myself that I do not always have to wait, but also to be able to MAKE the race! I attacked on the hardest cobble hill of the circuit, the Moskestraat, and we stayed in two. Shortly after we were cought up, I immediately responded to another attack, the decisive one! In fact, the race was decided at the penultimate lap when we stayed ahead in six, we immediately began to collaborate and the advantage gradually increased so we got to the finish line with about a minute on the chasing group. The only recrimination I have is to have started the sprint too early, unfortunately my legs were without energy and I could not avoid the comeback of Ruth Winder and Demi Vollering. I still ended with a good third place!

Sunday is was time for the Amstel Gold Race, the first of the three Ardennes classics. Unfortunately due to covid the route was modified and the entire race took place on what was usually the final circuit: with three walls (including the Cauberg), very nervous, without a meter of flatt and to be repeated seven times. it was a crazy race and very pulled from the beginning, imagine that already on the second lap the top athletes started to attack so that the group already broke up! I tried to hold on for as long as I could but I got into the second group with a pretty significant detachment from the first ones.
After these two competitions my season will continue in a totally different way because I will dedicate myself completely to the track to try to reach my greatest dream! As I already told you I am really satisfied with my start of the season and these good results have made me very confident for the future!

I will participate from the 30th of April to the 2nd of May at the Ceratizit festival Elsy Jacobs (Tour of Luxembourg) and then I will start a long period of training on the track and in the gym and for this reason I will not take part at any road race in May.
I will keep you updated!
